Old Dogs

There have been many dogs in my life, and not just my childhood pets. I’ve jumped in swimming holes, scaled mountains, and trekked snowy forests with my friends’ dogs. The love they have for us is unequivocal, and I’ve seen how impossibly happy they can make all of us. I’ve also seen how painful it is to watch your best friend get old and to ache from bad hips or suffer from cancer. However, there is a certain grace that comes with age; a stateliness that we would all be lucky to have in our own later years. It’s this grace and stateliness that I'm honoring in my portrait series, “Old Dogs.”
